Synopsis: In my talk, I will explore how preschool teachers can utilize the behaviour escalation cycle within the framework of positive behaviour support to effectively prevent and manage challenging behaviours in young children. The discussion will cover the stages of the escalation cycle, from early warning signs to peak incidents and recovery, highlighting practical strategies for each phase.
By understanding and applying these techniques, teachers can create a more responsive and nurturing classroom environment. This approach not only minimizes disruptions but also supports children's emotional and social development, fostering a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere for all students.
