Topic: C.E3 It takes a child to raise a village: Building child-centric collaborations in the ‘village’ around the child
Synopsis: Have you heard of the saying, ‘It takes a village to raise a child?’
Through the 10-year journey of pioneering the Circle of Care model in preschools, educators have experienced a paradigm shift, embracing the saying from a different perspective - ‘It takes a child to raise a village’. With the belief that young children can have a significant impact on their communities, this collaborative approach brings together health, early childhood and education, and social services, in an interdisciplinary manner to transform the support for and around children.
Join our workshop to dive into what interdisciplinary practice looks like in the early childhood and education sector. We will discuss the value and challenges of working collaboratively across different disciplines and share practical strategies on how you can implement these practices in your role as an educator. Together, we will discover how fostering interdisciplinary collaboration not only supports children's holistic development but also builds a vibrant, supportive community around each child. By the end of the workshop, you will be inspired by the pivotal role each child plays in strengthening and uniting their village, leading to better outcomes for children.
