Topic: B.E8 All preschoolers can read and enjoy books: the role of parents, professionals and the community

Synopsis: Emily can read for hours without letting go of her books. Janice is dyslexic, and never enjoyed books when she was in preschool. She cries when asked to read. Jolin snatches books from her sisters because she wants the books too, but she does not want to read them but tears pages off them instead. All three sisters (Not their real names) have different personalities and a different relationship with books and stories. Can all of them eventually read and enjoy books?

While at a differing ability and pace, it was such a pleasure to witness all three girls reading silently at home one fine evening. This Human Book brings you along the journey with Emily, Janice and Jolin’s parents and how they journeyed along with teachers, professionals and the community who supported the girls and their reading journey.
