Topic: A.E3 Reggio+ at Jalan Kukoh: Enhancing Social Mobility through Collaborative Childminding
Synopsis: Imagine a service where children engage in enriching, collaborative learning experiences while their parents gain the time and freedom to pursue work or education. Reggio+, an after-hours childminding initiative under Yong-en Care Centre at Jalan Kukoh, provides this vital support. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia pedagogy, this program, operating daily from 4pm to 10pm, transforms the concept of childminding by focusing on the co-construction of knowledge, fostering critical competencies in children that might otherwise be inaccessible due to socioeconomic barriers.
Reggio+ pivots upon an open operating system, collaborating with volunteers and various organizations to draw diverse resources into the learning environment. This ensures cost-efficiency and targets comprehensive child development. Through this workshop, participants will explore how Reggio+ reduces marginalization of both parents and children. Attendees will also gain practical insights into implementing similar collaborative childminding models in their communities, learning how such initiatives can drive social inclusion and enhance social mobility.
Join us to discover how the power of collaboration can create opportunities for low-income families, fostering educational equity and empowering communities.
